Our Story
Turning Interest Into Action
Here at Karen Elephant Connections, we see the value in everyone and everything including our Elephants. We want to be a catalyst for positive change and the humane ownership of these gentle giants. Since our beginnings, we’ve been driven by the same ideas. We initially founded our Organization upon: support and positive progress. From Idea to Reality:
The Evolution of Karen Elephant Connections
The Karen people are a fascinating community with a deep-rooted faith and rich culture that have left a lasting impression on us. Their strong sense of community and willingness to support one another are truly inspiring, making it a privilege to work alongside them on various projects. Their simple way of life and egalitarian values resonate deeply with us, drawing us closer to their world. Their reverence for nature and commitment to environmental conservation are admirable, reflecting a profound understanding of the world around them. Our connection with the Karen people began through our mutual love for elephants and our shared experiences in Thailand. This shared passion led to the inception of our nonprofit organization, aiming to provide support to the Karen Tribe and elephants on a global scale. Together, we aspire to bring about positive change and make a difference in the lives of those we hold dear.
Our Mission
& Vision
Preserving the Karen tribal culture and their elephants
Our focus is on preserving and protecting the Karen tribal culture and their elephants.
Our vision is to ensure both the people and the elephants have the resources they need to live a comfortable life that respects their traditions.
Our key point of difference is we will provide actual tools in lieu of money. We want to provide a sustainable future for the community and their elephants through hands on project building.
Our initial aims are to lease land so as to teach communities how to grow food. We will assist the elephant owners under our wing to build adequate shelters, fencing, alongside providing water and food and sand for their elephants. For the wider community to interact with others we aim to
provide English speaking classes.
The Karen Hill Tribe we are focusing on live up in Northern Thailand. There are 4 villages in this area. The people are naturally warm and gentle, living peacefully amongst nature with a long standing history and relationship with elephants. Whilst we respect their traditions we also wish for
their elephants to know a better life. With our support they can do this.
We will be transparent to all of our donors as we work together to make a positive impact for both the Karen people and their elephants.
